Wrapping up your winter, a digital dance gift from Impelo!
Our studio return looks set for January 2021, so while we wait to see you face to face let’s dance together on our jam packed online programme for the whole family to enjoy this winter, launching 2nd November!
We’re going live on Zoom with weekly Youth dance sessions, getting anyone aged 11 years + back into dance training and supporting teenage well- being through movement. Impelo has a big youth dance project lined up in January 2021 so help us co-design it this term, have your voice and ideas heard and nourished!
‘Do your thing’ is a weekly Zoom dance session for anyone aged 50 or over. Fitness, technique, gentle moves and upbeat grooves are all on the dance menu for this session. Seated or standing, high energy or gently paced, we’ll equip you with the dance know how so you can do it in your own way!
Our popular Big Fish Little Fish sessions for preschoolers will be available online with a mix of pre recorded dance routines and games with a LIVE weekly check in where we’ll dance, sing and connect. Each week there will be a new theme with wraparound activities to enhance play based learning at home for your little learner!
There will be a brand new session added to our online live weekly offer, The Big Fish Baby Fish Club! This is a session for parents/ carers with a baby under 1. We’re excited to be offering this movement, sensory, song and support session especially as many parents with new babies will have never been to a typical parent and baby session. We hope to create a beautiful online community of families and babies where we can offer some fun and a chance to socialise and support each other.
Our dancer leading on this project, Jemma Thomas says,
‘I’m so thrilled to be delivering this session with Impelo, I myself have just returned from maternity leave and know first hand what it’s been like raising a baby in lockdown. So much of my training has been focused on early years movement so I’m really fired up to deliver a beneficial movement session for babies to support their growth and learning, but I’m also so excited to chat with other parents so we can support each other, share baby stories and feel a bit more connected!’
Accompanying this programme will be our Impelo at Home dance class library, pre recorded dance sessions from some of your favourite Impelo dancers all available on our website and youtube channel absolutely free - there is SUCH an array of styles, for all ages and abilities, get grooving with your family this winter!
